The 18th annual James J. Whalen Academic Symposium is a celebration of student research, scholarship, and creativity featuring oral presentations, poster presentations, and creative works by students from all academic discipline (graduate and undergraduate.) In 2014, more than 360 students supported by 100 faculty sponsors presented their research and creative work. Plan now to participate!
Students are encouraged to present their current research and creative projects, even if their research findings are preliminary. Many participants include their presentations on their resumes and graduate school applications. In addition to providing students with the opportunity to share their research and creative work and to develop their presentation skills, the symposium is an opportunity for the broader IC community to celebrate student learning and engage in interdisciplinary discourse about a broad range of topics.
