Application Procedure

  • Complete the registration form.
  • Prepare a high-quality cassette tape representing your level of proficiency in solo repertoire, which must be at the minimum level or higher (see "Qualifications"). Please include two contrasting movements or pieces, preferably with piano accompaniment.
  • Obtain a letter of recommendation from your private teacher.

The first part of this can be done on-line. However, your application will not be complete until the tape and letter of recommendation are received.

To obtain a registration form, print out either the Adobe Acrobat version or the Web-page version of the form; or request the complete Chamber Music Institute brochure

Send the application, cassette, and letter of recommendation, together with a $100 deposit (U.S. dollars only), to the Office of Conference and Event Services at Ithaca College, postmarked no later than April 1, 2000.

You will receive confirmation of your registration and be billed for the balance due. If you do not qualify for the institute, your deposit will be refunded.

Enrollment is limited and competitive. You will be notified of your selection status no later than April 17, 2000.

Refunds: If you are accepted and cancel your registration before May 1, a full refund, less a $50 administrative service fee, will be made. No refunds will be made after that date.

The deadline for application is April 1, 2000.
