C. P. Snow Series Continues

Two lectures focusing on memory and brain power will comprise this year's edition of the C. P. Snow Lecture Series at Ithaca College. Free and open to the public, the 32-year-old series is named for the British scientist and novelist, who was perhaps best known for his writings on the gap between the "two cultures" of science and the humanities. Here is a look at the schedule for this year's series, titled "How We Remember, How We Know":

Thursday, April 9

"Brain and Mind," a talk by Patricia Goldman-Rakic, professor of neuroscience, Yale University; 8:00 p.m., room 102, Textor Hall.

Tuesday, April 28

"The Shapes of Memory: How We Write our Lives," featuring talks by Ithaca College Writing Program faculty members Diane McPherson, Marian MacCurdy, and Katharyn Howd Machan, and local editor and writer Ruth Davis; 7:30 p.m., Klingenstein Lounge, Egbert Hall.
