Getting Down, Getting Friendly . . . Reunion 99, June

A variety of programs and activities
for alumni and their families will be held as part of Reunion
99, scheduled for Thursday through Sunday, June 36.
Members of the campus community are encouraged to participate
and help welcome alumni back to campus.
A special invitation is extended to faculty and staff to join
in on the fun at the traditional Reunion picnic on the quad,
from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. This year there will
also be an appearance by popular musicians from the class of
1979.
As usual, the weekend will include
such gatherings as the volunteer recognition breakfast for those
who have helped support the Colleges Reunion, alumni clubs,
fund-raising, admission, and career services efforts; "A
Little Night Music," featuring performances by music alumni
and faculty; receptions for former student leaders and for "perennials"
(those who graduated at least 50 years ago); the all-class banquet
and awards ceremony, at which the 1999 Ithaca College Alumni
Association Awards will be presented; and an after-dinner dance
with a choice of music the big band swing of Spiegle Willcox
and His All-Stars or the R&B soul sounds of Destination.
Reunion attendees will have the
opportunity to select from a host of off-campus excursions, including
the sixth annual Jim Butterfield Golf Tournament; tours of Six
Mile Creek Vineyard and Bakers Acres Herb and Perennial
Gardens; brunch and dinner cruises of Cayuga Lake aboard the
MV Manhattan; a hike and ice cream social at Buttermilk
Falls State Park; and visits to the Sciencenter, Farmers Market,
and New Product Showcase and Learning Center. Back on South Hill,
participants can tour the campuss newest additions
the James J. Whalen Center for Music, the health sciences center,
and the fitness center along with the Longview residential
facility, the Center for Trading and Analysis of Financial Instruments
in the School of Business, and even the Colleges composting
facility.
