After serving in temporary roles since June of 2000, Rory Rothman has been named associate vice president for student affairs and campus life, and Bonnie Prunty has been named director of residential life and judicial affairs.

"I am very pleased with both of these important appointments," said Brian McAree, vice president for student affairs and campus life. "Rory and Bonnie are outstanding professionals who bring years of quality experience and in-depth knowledge to their roles. Their leadership and expertise are invaluable to the College, especially during this time of growth in our residential life program."

RothmanAs associate vice president, Rothman provides divisional leadership in policy development, planning, administration, and supervision for residential life and judicial affairs, campus safety, the health center, the counseling center, and the chaplains. He coordinates all student affairs and campus life committees, and currently chairs the Bias-related Incidents Committee and the AIDS Education and Policy Committee. His most recent College service has also included membership on the President’s Task Force on Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Prevention and the Middle States Periodic Program Review Committee.

He has presented programs and workshops on a variety of student life topics at regional and national conferences. He holds a B.A. in psychology from the State University of New York at Binghamton and an M.S. in counseling psychology and student development from SUNY at Albany.

PruntyAs director of the Offices of Residential Life and Judicial Affairs, Prunty is responsible for managing the residential life program, including administering the campus judicial system, for some 4,000 students in 31 residence halls. She earned a B.S. degree in business and economics from Lehigh University and an M.A. degree in student personnel services from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, then served for one year as a residence director at Syracuse University. In 1988 she came to Ithaca College as room assignments coordinator/operations assistant, earning successive promotions to area coordinator, assistant director of residential life for operations, and associate director of the Offices of Residential Life and Judicial Affairs.

Prunty’s College service has included chairing the joint Residential Life and First Year Programs Committee, responsible for implementing and evaluating all aspects of the first year residence hall program.
