While Ithaca
College once again set a record for applications to its incoming
freshman class, a planned reduction in the size of that class
coupled with the addition of the College Circle apartments means
fewer challenges as the College begins a new academic year.

The events
--- which will include a concert, a candlelight remembrance ceremony,
and two educational forums --- will consider how the tragedy has
affected the College community as well as provide a wider perspective
on the issues that have arisen since the attacks.

Members of
the incoming class joined with trustees, faculty, and staff in
Ben Light Gymnasium on Monday, August 26, as the annual Convocation
ceremony officially kicked off the new academic year.

"I am
very pleased that Todd has brought his wealth of fund-raising
experience to this important position," says Shelley Semmler,
vice president for institutional advancement.

Ithaca College
Theatre is planning a diverse 2002 - 2003 season, six productions
that will highlight themes of social change, farce, and youthful
passion.

Cleaning
up grounds at a Finger Lakes Land Trust preserve was just one
of the projects completed during the Community Plunge program
held August 22 and 23.

The
11th annual Founder’s Day Concert in the Park will be held on
Sunday, September 15, at 2:00 p.m. in DeWitt Park.

The
Department of Cinema and Photography at Ithaca College --- in
collaboration with the Cornell Environmental Film Festival and
the Religions, Ethnicities, and Identities Lecture and Discussion
Series --- will offer a stimulating selection of films and discussions
as part of this fall’s Cinema on the Edge film series.

Specialties
from five local restaurants will be served up for dinner in the
Ithaca College dining halls on Monday, September 9.
|
With
the addition of the College Circle apartments to on-campus housing,
Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit (TCAT) has revised its schedule
of bus service to Ithaca College.
