Kudos

Joy Adams and Bruce A. North, art, each had artwork selected for the 68th regional exhibition at the Arnot Art Museum in Elmira. The exhibition is open through December 8.

Elizabeth Griffin, therapeutic recreation and leisure services, presented "Leadership Strategies and Group Empowerment for Youth Sports Administrators" at the International Youth Sports Congress in San Antonio on September 14. Conducted by the National Alliance for Youth Sports, the congress brought together more than 300 administrators and recreation professionals concerned with providing quality youth sports programming.

Julio López-Arias, modern languages and literatures, coauthored a textbook, España: Lecturas interculturales, which was published by Waveland Press. A collection of news articles from Spain's premier newspaper, El País, the book is meant to increase students' knowledge of contemporary events in Spain as well as strengthen their language ability.

Jane Vogel, English, presented a paper, "(The) Butler Did It: Fitzgerald's Debt to the Author of The Way of All Flesh," at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Society International Conference in Saint Paul in September. She also published "O'Connor and the Issue of Race" in the Flannery O'Connor Review, volume 1, 2001 - 2.
