Office of the Registrar

Transfer Credit Evaluation

New Transfer Students

Students who are transferring from another institution may have official transcripts sent to the Office of Admission at Ithaca College. The Office of Admission will then process the information and send the transcript to the Office of the Registrar for evaluation. Approximately three weeks from the date of acceptance, the student should receive an evaluation of the coursework on the transcript in the mail. If a student wishes to have an evaluation prior to acceptance, he/she should contact the Admission Office (607) 274-3124.

Ithaca College currently accepts Advanced Placement Exams, coursework taken through an accredited Community College during high school, CLEP exams, International Baccalaureate Exams and A-level exams from foreign schools so long as the grade received is equivalent to a C- or higher and the course is not developmental in nature.  Questions about accepting courses toward completion of a degree should be directed to the Registrar's Office.

Current Students

Current students that wish to take courses elsewhere should come to the Registrar's Office and get a Petition for Transfer Credit form and fill it out and have it approved and signed before they take courses at another institution. If the course(s) fall within a student's last 30 credit hours at Ithaca College, they will need to apply for a Waiver of the Senior Credit Requirement. This process also begins with the Registrar's Office.
