Dorms

In your on-campus dorm room, you can find both blue and green recycling bins. 

In your blue bins, please recycle:

  • White paper
  • colored paper (no neon)
  • Copier bond
  • Computer printouts
  • Letterhead
  • Typing paper
  • Opened mail
  • Fax paper
  • Fliers
  • Posters
  • Non-metallic wrapping paper and greeting cards
  • Manila folders
  • Envelopes
  • Soft-cover books
  • Newspapers
  • Catalogs, magazines, and brochures
  • Notebook paper
  • Telephone books
  • Pamphlets and junk mail

In your green bins, please recycle:

  • Metal cans
  • Aluminum foil
  • Heat-and-serve food pans
  • Glass bottles (all colors)
  • #1-7 plastic bottles (opening smaller than base)
  • #5 plastic tubs (opening wider than base)
  • Milk cartons and drink boxes

You can take your E-Waste to the bins in the OSCAR room (Phillips Hall 196):

  • Computers
  • TVs
  • Monitors
  • Rechargeable batteries
  • Compact fluorescent light bulbs
  • Printer cartridges
  • Cordless and cell phones
  • Any other electronics

Put your corrugated cardboard (OCC) in the cardboard recycling bins in the academic buildings.  Look for the wavy corrugated layer in between the two cardboard liner pieces to figure out if it's OCC.  Be sure to clean them and flatten out all your pieces and boxes!
