OFF CAMPUS GUIDE
introduction

Dear Student:

Ithaca College is a residential community. All full-time, non-senior students are required to live on campus, unless they receive written approval from the Office of Residential Life for off campus status. Students are strongly encouraged not to sign a lease until written approval is provided.

There are several categories of students who are exempt from the college's Residency Policy¹. These are current students who can provide legal proof that they:

  • are 23 years of age or older.
  • reside with a parent or legal guardian during the academic year and within 60 miles driving distance of campus.
  • are married, or in a domestic partnership or civil union.
  • have dependent children.

In this guide, you will find valuable information on what to consider before moving off campus, and a current listing of advertised properties.

Sincerely,

Linda Koenig
Assistant Director for Housing Services and Communication

¹ Incoming transfer students with two or more years at another college or university are also exempt, but only prior to being assigned and checking into on-campus housing.
