Frequently Asked Questions
Are the halls locked 24 hours-a-day?
Yes, the entrance doors to all residence halls are locked 24 hours a day, and seven days a week. This is an additional security measure to your room (or apartment) key. It is your responsibility to lock your door and to keep your keys with you at all times in order to help maintain the security of the residence hall system.
Students propping open, unlocking entrance doors, or by any means allowing non-residents access to a residence hall other than as his or her guest is an act to compromise the effectiveness of the security system. This will result in judicial action.
If your room key is lost or stolen, you must contact your Residential Life Area Office immediately. The Office of Residential Life will notify the appropriate Facilities personnel to change the lock.
