Why the First Year Residence Hall Program?

In the First-Year Residence Hall Program, you will have the opportunity to….

  • Learn about campus resources and services that support academic success
  • Develop and use strategies for academic success
  • Build a foundation for meaningful relationships with faculty, staff, and administrators
  • Build lasting relationships with other FYRHP students
  • Learn about healthy and responsible decision making
  • Experience diversity and global citizenship on a variety of levels, residential, collegiate, local and global

Activities and Programs include….

  • Tours of local attractions such as the Ithaca Commons and our Eco-Village
  • Lots of social opportunities from s'mores to ice cream socials to Lazer-tag
  • Opportunities to interact with faculty and learn about topics outside your major such as making dry-ice ice cream to looking at gender impacts
  • Workshops with tips for class registration
