Early Arrival Housing

Students required to be on campus prior to the published semester check-in date must receive written approval from the Office of Residential Life to arrive early. Students without written authorization found in a residence hall or who make an attempt to check-in early are subject to a $100.00 unauthorized presence fee.

The earliest date and time that may be requested to arrive for the Fall semester is 9:00 a.m. on the Sunday prior to the published Residence Hall opening date. The earliest date and time that can be requested for the Spring semester is 9:00 a.m. on the Wednesday prior to the published Residence Hall opening date. No requests for early arrival to the Circle Apartments will be approved.

The student's employment supervisor, athletic coach, dean's office, academic advisor, or club coordinator must submit the request for an eligible reasons. Students whose special circumstances are beyond the scope of these may submit an individual request. However, only those requests deemed both reasonable and necessary will be approved.

Eligible Reasons to Arrive Early

Students who are required to be on the Ithaca College campus for on-campus employment, athletic team practice or participation, academic requirement, or college-sponsored or college-sanctioned participation (e.g., Jump Start, Cornell ROTC) prior to the published check-in date are eligible to arrive early.

As the President's office has requested we limit the number of students arriving early, it is strongly suggested that student job training, preliminary meetings and the like be scheduled no earlier than absolutely necessary.
