The H.O.M.E. Program is an excellent living option for students who are interested in learning more about multicultural issues, as well as for students preparing to study abroad, and for international students who are living in the United States for the first time. The H.O.M.E. Program is located in Terrace 03 and provides new and returning students with an opportunity to live in a culturally diverse environment where they can experience, discuss, and learn about cross-cultural and global issues.
In addition to sharing a common residential experience, students in the H.O.M.E. Program are required to take a three-credit Multicultural Issues course during their first semester of residence. Participating students are also required to attend 6 multicultural programs each subsequent semester of residence.
Programs are facilitated by a program assistant and led by different staff members. The faculty members teaching the academic component of the H.O.M.E. program work with the facilitator and presenters to insure presentation of relevant programs. Programs we hope to offer include: international guest lecturers, information sessions about study abroad options, cultural exchange dinners, as well as traditional social and academic success programs.
At the end of each semester, students in the program will participate in a Community Forum to discuss the various programs and life in a multicultural setting.
We strongly encourage current and prospective students to consider this multicultural initiative as a housing and learning opportunity.
