Quotes from Past H.O.M.E. Residents

The Offices of Residential Life
and International Programs
co-sponsor this exciting, academically based, multicultural residence hall program.

"Great Idea! HOME will allow students to learn more about themselves. Students generally spend most of their time in their residence hall, therefore, a hall like HOME will be a great tool of cultural education in a magnificent atmosphere of diversity!" - Mohammed Tantawi, Egypt

"The project will give all students involved a hands-on experience of multiculturalism as opposed to just attending a lecture in a classroom. Faculty affiliation will benefit the whole student body." - Luis Maravi, Peru

"HOME...a place where east meets west and where multiculturalism will flourish." - Radhika Angara, India

"As a person and prospective journalist, I am insatiably curious. I want to know about everything and everyone and I enjoy learning about how and why people are different. I like to challenge myself, try new things and meet new people. Living in a multicultural hall will give me the opportunity to learn about other cultures, traditions, and beliefs by forming a community and individual friendships with international students. Being at Ithaca College is not only about learning from text books, but more importantly, about learning from people." - Kristin Haegele, U.S.

"I've learned a lot from living in the U.S. ...this will be my chance to share my stories from home." - Sumona (Rini) Banjeree, India

"IC will be a more integrated campus with a greater multicultural awareness. HOME is a sensitive program that takes into consideration the housing concerns of international students during holidays." - Maira Pires, Brazil

Students living in the HOME program have the option to remain in their residence hall over Thanksgiving, Winter (except for the week the College is closed), and Spring breaks
