EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE

For any of the following, call your RA immediately, the RA-on-duty, your RD, or the RD-on-duty (duty contact information is posted on your RA's door):

  • Loss of electrical power
  • Burst pipes (e.g., sprinklers, water)
  • Safety issues (e.g., doors won't lock, doors will not open)
  • Overflowing Toilets, Showers, or fixtures (this is not the same as a dripping faucet or drain)
  • Fire hazards (e.g. exposed wiring, malfunctioning appliances)
  • Biohazards (e.g., vomit, urine, blood)
  • If you are uncertain if the situation is an emergency, be safe and call

Call 9-1-1 for life threatening issues!

ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
  • General (e.g., stuck window, door hard to open, drawer won't close, bathroom faucet dripping, light out): Submit request to the iServiceDesk
  • Lack of Heat: Before submitting an iServiceDesk request, be sure the ...
    1. radiator control knob is open (traditional halls)
    2. thermostat is set above the ambient temperature (Circles/Gardens)
    3. air flow to the radiator or baseboard heater is unobstructed
    4. windows are fully closed and latched
    5. Air Condition unit covers are installed (Circles only)
  • Cable TV: Direct maintenance requests to Time-Warner at 272-3456.
    • The most common problem is a missing or damaged cable connector (the cable has been pulled from the wall by a previous resident instead of purchasing the require coaxial patch cable. See Things to Bring).
  • Computer issues: ITS HelpDesk at 4-3282 or on-line request
  • Laundry machines: See notice in laundry room
