Goal 1. Improve communication with staff to create a more unified and efficient department
- Assess and explore more productive ways to communicate important information to Resident Assistants versus current structure of Town Meetings
- Determine overall goal for using WebCT and explore best way to utilize this forum for professional and Resident Assistant staff, if continuing to use it makes sense
- Increase educational efforts for Resident Assistants around mission statement
- Review Professional Staff and Resident Assistant manuals for content and set-up
- Management team will copy all relevant supervisors on communication
- Assess current communication tools used for Resident Assistants and explore additional tools
Goal 2. Provide proper signage for Residential Life offices
- Continue to work with facilities to create professional looking, consistent signage throughout the residence halls including at Residence Director offices
Goal 3. Inform the campus and students about our department's offerings and accomplishments
- As we continue to improve/increase our presence on Homer, add floor plans and room layouts
- Better utilize Intercom for recognizing both student and professional staff
- Review and assess Memphis for restructuring and more efficient storage
Goal 4. Effectively communicate with our students through use of technology
- Identify ways to utilize blogs, IM, IC Peers, Facebook, WebCT, HOMER, websites, intercom, etc to improve communication with current and prospective students
- Gather feedback from Resident Assistants regarding how to most effectively communicate with students
