RESIDENTIAL LIFE GUIDE
billing & appeals process

Once an assessment has been made of the individual room, apartment, or suite, any damage found will be repaired. The cost to repair the damages will be posted to the student's Bursar account.

Charges are posted to the Bursar's Office twice a year at the end of each semester. An itemized list of damages charged will be mailed to the specific student's permanent address at the conclusion of each semester.

Students wishing to contest damage charges must notify the Office of Residential Life in writing by the deadline listed on the itemized bill. Any questions or appeals regarding damage billing should be directed to the appropriate Residence Director.

Please note: a student may contact their RD at any point during the academic year to review their RCR/ACR.

By failure complete and submit an ACR/RCR, a student has waived his or her right to appeal any damage charges assessed by their Residence Director. The room, suite, or apartment will be considered in "like new" condition for damage billing purposes.

Common area damage affects everyone in the community resulting in increased housing costs.

All correspondence to contest damage charges should be directed to the appropriate Residence Director at:

2001 East Tower
953 Danby Road
Ithaca, NY 14850
(607) 274-1589 (Fax)
