Want to Change Your Room Assignment?

If you are interested in changing rooms because you are unhappy with your current room or residence hall, Wait Lists are available. You may apply by residential area and by type of room: Emerson Hall, Garden Apartments, Circle Apartments, Suite, Single, Double& Triple. For more information about Wait Lists, click here.

Another room change option is to find someone who is agreeable to switch rooms with you through a One-to-One room swap. This option is facilitated through your Residence Director. For more information about One-to-One swaps, click here.

If you are experiencing difficulties with your roommate(s), we encourage you to first sit down and discus the situation with your RA. See if you can revise your Roommate Agreement to make your living arrangement better. If you are unable to work with your RA, your next step should be to speak with your Residence Director in order to determine how your roommate conflict can be resolved. In the event that all types of mediation are unsuccessful, a room change may be facilitated.

For additional information about Room Change Procedures, click here.

SPECIAL NOTICE: The Office of Residential Life reserves the right to suspend these processes as demand for campus housing dictates.

All room changes and sublets made without prior approval of the Office of Residential Life are subject to judicial action. Similarly, moving into a vacancy without permission from the Office of Residential Life can result in disciplinary action. It is vitally important for your safety and well-being that Ithaca College's records accurately reflect where you reside on campus.

Students who move (or are directly reassigned) from a traditional room to a Circle Apartment, Garden Apartment, or Quad Apartment will need to contact the Bursar's office if they intend to continue their current meal plan. Students who move (or are directly reassigned) from a Circle Apartment, Garden Apartment, or Quad Apartment to a traditional room are automatically assigned to a standard meal plan which will be billed to their student account.

Moving from one bedroom to another within an Circle apartment without approval of the Office of Residential Life is considered an unauthorized room change and subject to judicial action.
