Welcome to Stockwerk Deutsch, the German language and culture learning community! Stockwerk Deutsch is a new offereing for the 2009-2010 academic year. The community is located on the first floor of Terrace 11, and shares the floor with the Quartier français Learning Community. For 2010-11, Stockwerk Deutsch will move to the second floor of Terrace 07, along with Quartier français.
Program Goals
- Provide residents with the opportunity to regularly practice German.
- Educate residents about language and culture issues relating to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
- Educate residents about the reciprocal political, economic, and pop-cultural relationships between the U.S. and the major German-speaking countries.
Program Requirements
- Sign the specialty housing agreement.
- Attend at least three educational programs planned or approved by the Stockwerk Deutsch resident assistant (RA).
- Participate in language immersion hours.
Potential Activities
- Language workshops.
- Heritage cuisine nights.
- German-language film series.
- Observance of the festivities of the major German-speaking countries.
