Bettina Luescher, is the Chief Spokesperson for North America of the World Food Programme. Since joining WFP in 2004 she has worked in crisis areas like Darfur, Afghanistan, Gaza, Guatemala, Haiti and the Tsunami region of Indonesia and Sri Lanka.
The United Nations World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide that works to bring the issue of hunger to the center of the international agenda. It strives to reach more than 90 million people with food assistance in 73 countries, working hard to get food to where it is needed, saving the lives of victims of war, civil conflict and natural disasters.
Before joining the UN, Luescher worked for 15 years as an anchor, reporter and field producer for CNN International… based in Atlanta, Frankfurt and Berlin.
