Sharon Brandman ’04

Sharon Brandman is the senior producer at KOAA-TV News First 5/30, the NBC affiliate in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She produces the 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts. After graduating from Ithaca, Sharon began her producing career on the morning show at News First, and quickly moved up the ranks. She has earned a Regional Emmy award for best newscast: News First Today at 6 a.m., and Colorado Broadcaster’s Association award for best newscast: News First at 10 p.m.

Sharon is also the Executive Producer for Midknight Video Productions, an independent production company that provides exclusive video coverage for the I-25 Speedway, Southern Colorado’s only paved quarter-mile oval race track. Sharon loves the diversity her two careers grant her, having the opportunity to focus equally on hard-hitting news and the exciting action of the sport of race car driving, while having a positive impact on viewers of both the newscasts and the patrons of the speedway, truly her efforts have been noticed by many and are appreciated by all.

Ed Cohen ’05

Ed Cohen is the play-by-play voice for the Manhattan Jaspers, and also hosts their basketball coaches' TV show on SNY during the season.  He has also called games for MSG Network and NBA TV, anchored updates for Sirius NBA and NFL Radio and filled in as a sports anchor at WRNN-TV, which can be seen throughout the Tri-State area.  This summer he is in North Carolina, calling minor league baseball for the Burlington Royals of the Appalachian League.

"I remember visiting Ithaca my senior year of high school, and during our tour of Park, the student guide said he was on the radio his first week, providing field hockey updates.  I thought this was the greatest thing ever!  Now, I never did any work with field hockey in my four years, but the truth is if you want to get involved right away, with whatever your interest/passion is, the opportunities are there.  Any chance you get, whether its on-air, behind the scenes, writing a class paper, editing a project...make it something that will help build towards that next step.  There is no such thing as a bad opportunity, especially in the Park School.  But remember, enjoy the college experience, too."
