Multimedia Workshop for International Journalists
The Journalism Department of the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College will host a Multimedia Workshop for International Journalists that will run from July 20 to 24 2009. Ten journalists from around the world (see the list of participants here) have been invited to participate in the workshop that will focus on multimedia approach to newsgathering and dissemination for on-line journalists who utilize alternative media in their various countries.
During the workshop, participants will learn to conceptualize, map, and produce compelling stories across media platforms, including audio, video and interactive graphics; learn from experts and exchange ideas on multi-media journalism; gain field experience in multi-media storytelling using digital content-gathering tools to produce multi-media stories and present national case studies on multi-media journalism. The discussions will be beneficial and challenging.
Participants will also meet and exchange ideas with renown independent media practitioners from the US and Canada on the future of global independent media.
The Park School of Communications, through this workshop, hopes to contribute to the global discussion on the role of new media platforms in the practice of international reporting.
