New Special Topics course: Entrepreneurial Journalism

This course explores media economics with a focus on fostering innovation in communications and developing business plans for journalism entrepreneurs. Theories include historic and digital communication models; how information accumulates and disperses through social media, principles of e-commerce; and implications of free content and other revenue models. Students develop a media venture, including a business plan and revenue model. 3 credits.
