Student Media Sweep the Nationals
Our student media has a solid record of winning awards against tough competition. Here are some of Ithaca’s latest triumphs:
ICTV took top honors in the New York State Broadcasters competition for the best local newscast and the best news story of the year.
At the annual National College Media Convention, the Ithacan took all the major awards: both the print and online versions won Pacemakers, “the Pulitzer Prize of collegiate journalism,” and a fall issue won a best of show award. This is the first time in the history of the convention that a paper won all three awards.
Our online magazine, iMPrint, took first place in a competition sponsored by the Association of Schools of Journalism and Mass Communication. The magazine was also awarded first place in the International Student Media Festival, sponsored b the Association for Educational Communications and Technology.
Buzzsaw Haircut was named publication of the year by Campus Progress and won two first-place Campus Independent Journalism Awards.
