Howard K. Kalman, assistant professor of communication management and design in the Department of Strategic Communication, participated in a panel presentation, "Best Practices for Teaching an Introductory Instructional Design Course," at the Association for Educational Communications and Technology conference in Anaheim, California, on October 25.
Kalman discussed how a spiral approach to course design was used to provide ample practice and accelerate depth of student learning. In addition, he described instructional strategies that help students overcome common learning difficulties.
