CMD Students Present Papers at RIT Conference

Two senior CMD students presented papers at the 2007 annual Conference for Undergraduate Research in Communications at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). The papers were originally written for the course, Communication and Learning Technologies:  Theory, Application, and Policy, with Dr. Tammy Shapiro.

Rachel Mandel's paper, "PDAs in Organizations," addresses the use of personal digital assistants (PDA). It was honored as Best Paper about technology at the conference.  "I have always been interested in emerging technologies," says Rachel, "and the course, allowed me to research how technologies are being used and analyze their effects on productivity."

Lonna Dawson presented "Just Shoot Me an Email: The Advent and Modernity of Electronic Messaging and Conflict Exacerbation in the Workplace." She commented that, "I was very excited to represent Ithaca College at the conference."
