Breast Cancer Survivor To Discuss Health Promotion Campaign At Ithaca College

ITHACA, NY — Breast cancer survivor Leigh Hurst will talk about her “Feel Your Boobies” campaign to spread her lifesaving message on Thursday, Feb. 18, at Ithaca College. Her 7:30 p.m. presentation in Textor 101 is free and open to the public.

Hurst graduated from Ithaca College in 1992 with a degree in corporate communications. After being diagnosed at the age of 33 with breast cancer, she founded “Feel Your Boobies,” a nonprofit organization focused on using unconventional methods to promote self examination as the best method for young women to detect breast cancer. Hurst will discuss her campaign’s use of the media, particularly social media, for motivational and educational purposes.

Her talk is sponsored by the Department of Strategic Communication. For more information, visit http://www.feelyourboobies.com/.
