Bayliss Foundation Radio Scholarship

This scholarship is for ambitious students pursuing a wide spectrum of goals in or relating to the radio industry, ranging from programming, announcing and engineering to broadcast journalism, teaching and station management. They are selected to receive the Bayliss Scholarship based on their academic achievement and extracurricular radio activities, their passion for radio and their desire to contribute to the overall advancement of the radio industry. The Bayliss Foundation continues to help today's students become the broadcast leaders of tomorrow.

2008 Winner:  Jessica Zerillo, Class of 2009

Jessica Zerillo is a senior Television-Radio major from Union Beach, New Jersey. This semester, Jessica is the recipient of the John Bayliss Broadcast Foundation Radio Scholarship, which gives $5,000 to be put toward tuition. This is a national scholarship based primarily on merit, given to students who wish to pursue a career in radio. Jessica is one of twelve recipients nationwide, chosen on the basis of a resume, recommendations, and an essay relating her studies to her career goals. Jessica is currently a DJ for VIC and WICB, the Ithaca College radio stations. She is also the Promotions Director for VIC.  This summer, Jessica interned for PLJ in New York on the morning show with Scott and Todd. After graduation in the spring, Jessica plans to attend grad school and hopes to eventually obtain a senior management position in radio.
