Radio Broadcaster - Portland Sea Dogs / Sports Talk Host - 98.5 The Sports Hub (Boston, MA)
I sat in the press box at Fenway Park right before I went on the air and I wondered to myself “how is this possible?” It didn’t take me long at all to come to an answer; it was simple: Ithaca College.
I graduated from the Park School of Communications this past May with a degree in Television-Radio (with a Media Production concentration). It was at Ithaca where I fell in love with radio broadcasting.
The foundation of my education in broadcasting was laid in the classrooms, where I was fortunate to learn from some truly spectacular and talented professors. At WICB, Ithaca’s outstanding (and award-winning!) student-run radio station, I was able to take what I learned in the classroom and apply it to actual broadcasting. Surrounded by fellow “ICBers” who not only became some of the greatest friends of my life, but who also challenged me and inspired me to improve, I honed my radio skills. It paid off.
After graduation, I took a job as a play-by-play radio broadcaster with the Portland Sea Dogs (the Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox). Every day, I go to work at a baseball park and broadcast baseball games on the radio. On the same day that we broadcast a Sea Dogs game from Fenway Park, I was named a weekend sports talk co-host for 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston. Sometimes, I still wonder how all of this has happened so quickly...but then I think of my time at Ithaca, and then I know how this all became possible.
