“This internship really helped me realize that I love promoting…and that I definitely want to work in the music industry,” says Randi. She had a fantastic internship experience with the artist promotion and media relations agency, Fanatic Promotion. As a radio promoter, she sent recordings to radio music directors, helped discover new clients, distributed mailings, researched music chart information and sent promotional emails. One of the most challenging yet valuable tasks for Randi was cold-calling hundreds of people each week. “I was really intimidated at first, but eventually got better and more comfortable at talking on the phone.” Randi attended the Fanatic’s showcase at the CMJ Music Marathon and Film Festival, a five day New York City festival. Fanatic Promotions asked her back to help at the CMJ, giving her free entrance to one of the biggest concerts of the season!
