Job description GTS-0229525 Communications Generalist
IBM is looking for college students who are interested in pursuing a career in communications. Our interns gain experience in a wide range of communications disciplines, including media relations (press and analyst), employee communications, and the use of social media (blogs, wikis, podcasts).
Typical intern assignments include writing for our websites, managing employee events, conducting industry research, preparing for press interviews, producing multimedia pieces, and using social media. Interns are also encouraged to take advantage of our summer enrichment activities, which include mentoring, career development workshops, and tours of our research labs.
Summer positions are full-time for 10-12 weeks. All internships are paid, and the hourly salary is based on how many credits the student has earned toward graduation.
Students must be currently enrolled in an academic program at an accredited college or university. Ideal candidates will be in pursuit of a related degree, such as Communications or English/Journalism. Prior experience (editorial position or communications internship) is preferred.
This particular position would be in IBM's Global Technology Services business unit.
