Museum of the City of New York - fulltime
The Museum of the City of New York seeks a Communications and Marketing Associate who will work with media to publicize the Museum's programs and exhibitions. The position reports to the Vice President of Communications and entails conducting outreach to secure listings in magazines, newspapers, blogs, websites, and social media, and assisting the VP on all matters relating to media, including TV. The Associate will be the primary editor and coordinator of the Museum's weekly e-newsletter, working closely with the Senior Graphic Designer, and also assist with the ongoing development of the Museum's website. The successful candidate will be media savvy with a command of web-based advertising and communications, including social media and must be an excellent writer. Strength with software programs such as Excel as well as knowledge of other digital applications is a must, as is a college degree, and strong interest in pursuing a career within the museum marketing field.
