Roberto Herrscher
Latin America Writer and Journalist
March 5-8, 2012

Herrscher, the director of the Masters Program in Journalism at the University of Barcelona, is one of Latin America's most interesting journalistic voices. A contributing writer with Gatopardo and Travesías (Mexico), Etiqueta Negra (Perú) and Perfil (Argentina), Herrscher is a culture and opera critic for La Vanguardia (Barcelona) and a correspondent with the U.S. magazine Opera News. He is the author of The Voyages of the Penelope (Südpol, 2010), the fascinating story of the little ship on which Herrscher served during the Malvinas/Falklands War of 1982.

Born and raised in Argentina, he earned a degree in Sociology at the University of Buenos Aires and an M.Sc. in Journalism from Columbia University.
