Spring 2014 Information

Dear Spring 2014 ICLA Students:

Greetings from Los Angeles! I hope you are having a great fall semester and are looking forward to spending next semester with us.

IMPORTANT: For any questions you have pertaining to Los Angeles, it will save you time if you direct them to the Los Angeles Program Office.  You can call us at 800-280-7709 or e-mail us at iclaprogram.spring2014@gmail.com

This is a mandatory session. Important information pertaining to internships, course registration, housing, transportation, and living in Los Angeles will be distributed at this meeting.

You will be registering for your Spring 2014 courses on the same day you would register if you were returning to campus. Further details on Spring 2014 courses will be distributed at the orientation session.

Details pertaining to your internship search will be distributed at the October 13th meeting, but if you wish to begin researching potential internship sites, you may explore the major media conglomorate sites or our internship database.

  1. Click on “Internships” in the left column.
  2. Click on "Internship Database" to access the ICLA Program Internship Database. You can sign into the database using your Netpass Username and Password. Once inside you can conduct a search within specific categories or search the name of a specific company.
  3. Under "Internships" you can also click on "Major Media Conglomerates." This will take you to a page with links to the major Los Angeles-based media companies (NBC Universal, ABC/Disney, MTV (Viacom), SONY, FOX and Time Warner). The link will take you to the company's home page where you will find internship information and instructions on how to apply.  Please note that each company follows a different timeline, so you may have to keep checking to see if updated information has been posted.
  4. On the "Internships" page on our website, you will see links to additional internship resources on the web. The best site is entertainmentcareers.net.

If you are offered an internship at any time, you must get my permission before accepting it. I will be serving as your faculty adviser for the present time, so it is important that you contact me by e-mail at iclaprogram.spring2014@gmail.com or by phone at 1(800) 280-7709 before committing to an internship.

If the internship requires a letter of proof that you will be registered as a full-time student and earning credit for your internship, go to our website and click on “INTERNSHIPS” and then click on “Credit Verification Request” and fill out the form and submit it electronically. We will take care of it for you.
