Spring 2010 Information
MANDATORY ORIENTATION SESSION
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2009, PARK SCHOOL AUDITORIUM, 7:00pm
This is a mandatory session. You will be receiving important information pertaining to
housing, transportation, academics, internships, and living in Los Angeles.
PRE-REGISTRATION FOR SPRING 2010 LOS ANGELES CLASSES
You will be pre-registering for your Spring 2010 courses on the same day you would
register if you were returning to campus. All students attending the Los Angeles
Program are required to register for a minimum of 13 credits: a 6-credit internship,
a 1-credit course ("Media Industries"), and two 3-credit courses.
The course listings can be found by clicking on
the "Spring 2010 Courses" button on this page. Instructions for registration will be distributed at the orientation session.
INTERNSHIPS
Details pertaining to your internship search will be distributed at the orientation
session, but if you wish to begin researching potential internship sites, you may
go into our internship database, which you can access through our homepage.
More information can be found on internships by clicking on the "Internship information" button on this page. From there, you may click on the "Internship Database" button which will take you to a page with 2 buttons:
MAJOR MEDIA CONGLOMERATES
The top button, labeled "CLICK HERE to apply to a major media conglomerate
Internship" will take you a page where you can access the home pages of
NBC/Universal, ABC/Disney, MTV Networks, FOX Network, and other media
companies, where you can apply for an internship online. Be sure to wait until
the pages are updated and you are applying for a Spring 2010 Internship.
ITHACA COLLEGE'S LA INTERNSHIP DATABASE
The second button, labeled "CLICK HERE to proceed to the internship database"
will take you to a second page, where you should click on "Internship Database."
The Account Name and Password is the same word: user
Once you reach the database, the instructions for searching the database are clearly outlined on the right. If you have any problems accessing the database, please contact me by email (laprogram@ithaca.edu)
RESIDENT ASSISTANT APPLICATION
All Ithaca College students attending the Los Angeles Program may apply for
a resident assistant position. You can download a .pdf of the Spring 2010 RA
Application, which includes a job description and timeline, by clicking on the "Resident Assistant Info and Application" button located on this page.
Completed applications and resumes are due in the Deanís Office no later than
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2009 by 5pm.
Applicants selected for interviews will be contacted by e-mail on Monday, November 2.
RA interviews will be held on the Ithaca College campus on November 6, 9 & 10.
Hiring decisions will be e-mailed to all interview applicants on Friday, November 13.
