The Park School of Communications requires all incoming first-year students to purchase an Apple MacBookPro laptop. Through a special arrangement with Apple Computer, Park School students are eligible for a $200 discount on purchases of $1799.00 or more by using a special "coupon code" provided by the Park School dean's office.
To receive the $200 discount, you must obtain the coupon from the Park School dean's office before ordering the laptop online or over the phone.
Order your laptop through the online Apple Store for Ithaca College, or by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE. (Select option 2, then option 1 to place the order over the phone. Be sure to have your coupon code ready).
The Apple Store will present recommended models for purchase. Students who plan to do a lot of video editing may find the larger screen and increased RAM easier to work with, but any of the models listed will meet the requirements of all degree programs in the Park School.
Click "Select" to choose the model that best fits your needs.
Please note: The price shown includes the educational discount and the cost of the Apple Care Warranty. The Park School strongly recommends that students purchase the warranty. The warranty covers on-site technical support, a loaner laptop for systems needing to be sent off-site, and most repair cost (please see detailed warranty coverage). If you choose not to purchase the warranty, you may remove the item from your cart.
Next, the site will display some of the other items available for purchase, such as Microsoft Office for the Mac Home and Student Edition, which you may add to your cart. This is the only software required for incoming students.
Once you're ready to order, select the "View Cart" link at the upper right of the page to review all of the items you've placed in your cart. When you have finished shopping, click on "Check out now."
If you already have an Apple Online Store, iTunes, .Mac, or iPhoto account, sign in using your existing Apple ID and password.
If you are a new user, create an account by entering in your e-mail address.
Enter both your billing address and shipping address. Your billing address and shipping address should match the information on your credit card account. Apple does not accept P.O. box or international addresses. Click on "Continue."
To find out what payment methods are accepted at the Apple Online Store, visit the "Payment and Pricing" section of online help. Make sure that your payment method matches the billing information you have entered and that you include the appropriate security code for a credit or debit card. Click on "Continue."
This screen allows you to review your order and personal information to ensure it's accurate, and to enter your coupon code to activate your discount.
In the "Promo Savings" field, enter your coupon code.
Please note: You will get an error in red if the coupon has expired, or if the coupon has already been used or you have not met the minimum purchase price of $1799.
If there is a problem call the Park School dean's office to obtain a new coupon code.
To purchase, select the "Confirm Order" button.
You will see your final price before selecting "I Accept."
