Recent Kudos for Park Alumni, Ad Lab, and Student Media

In June, integrated marketing communications majors from the Park School's Ad Lab class traveled to San Diego to compete in the American Advertising Federation's National Student Advertising Competition. The team won second place, and their creative work became the inspiration for some of JCPenney's new advertisements and promotional fliers.

WICB, ICTV, and the Ithacan were once again contenders for national awards this fall:

  • WICB took home the award for best station imaging and ICTV won best PSA at the 2011 College Broadcasters, Inc., student production competition in October. WICB was also nominated for best PSA and best sports play-by-play, while ICTV shows and extras received nods for best comedy, best promo, best sportscast, and best documentary/public affairs.
  • The Ithacan print edition was awarded first place, and the Ithacan website was awarded second place, in their categories in the Best of Show competition at the National College Media Convention in Orlando, Florida, October 27–30. The paper was also presented with a Newspaper Pacemaker Finalist Award at the convention. The Ithacan won the Newspaper Pacemaker in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2008, and was a finalist in 2009 and 2010. The Ithacan website won the Online Pacemaker in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2010, and was a finalist in 2009.
