Now Is The Winter: Symposium

The Symposium at Ithaca College will bring together a discrete group of scholars, critics and artists from the United States and Russia for a weekend of talks, screenings and discussions. As with the Moscow exhibition, with which the symposium shares only a few participants, this project is a conscious attempt to create a common, rather than comparative dialogue for reading the present states of conflict and collusion between media, art and politics. To that end, participants will include US scholars and artists with a sustained interest in Russian media and culture, as well as Russian participants looking actively at the United States and global movements within these fields of contest.
