Every year hundreds of past Ithaca College students gather in the city for Alumni Weekend. During this year’s Alumni Weekend, CMD students were given a chance to interact with some of the major’s most prestigious alumni, who make up the Communication Management & Design Advisory Board. The board, which was created to help keep students and faculty connected to the alumni community, is presently comprised of Morgan Steele Connacher ’05, Jill Kirtland ’02, Eric Lears ‘03, and Cornell Woodson ’09.
Prior to the weekend’s festivities, the board members took the opportunity to meet and talk with present CMD students by commencing a panel discussion at one of the Communication Management & Design Student Association (CMDSA) meetings and by visiting some of the classrooms they once occupied. When talking with the students, each board member brought a unique perspective that covered a range of career opportunities that can be attained as a result of studying communication management and design.
The weekend visit gave present students a chance to see where their education and skills could take them in the future and it allowed the board members an opportunity to see how the CMD program has evolved over the years while they also took a trip down memory lane.
