CMD Alum, Liz Brenna, Founds Organization Based in Promoting Corporate Social Responsibility
Liz Brenna, a 2007 Communication Management and Design graduate, has founded a consulting firm (Socially Good Business) that is focused on helping businesses undertake in corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Brenna first became interested in CSR while studying at Ithaca College when Jeff Furman, the social entrepreneur who has helped Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream become the CSR-savvy organization that it is today, spoke in one of her classes.
After graduating, Liz moved to Vermont and quickly acquired at job at Ben & Jerry’s headquarters. During her time there she primarily worked in the public relations department where she fielded a large number of calls from other companies asking how Ben & Jerry’s became so successful at being such a responsible company. After she left the organization she was inspired to help other companies learn how they can be just as lucrative with CSR as Ben & Jerry’s is. She is now accomplishing her goal through her consulting firm, Socially Good Business, which is located in Rochester, NY.
