The Communication Management and Design Student Association (CMDSA) has officially begun for the 2011-2012 academic year. The kick-off meeting was a huge success with approximately 40 students attending. The CMDSA Executive Board introduced themselves and revealed the list of activities that the association will tackle this year. This list of events includes:

• Planning and managing events for other student organizations
• A networking workshop with Professor Cory Young
• A study abroad panel of CMD students that have been abroad
• A curriculum and advising workshop with Professor Dennis Charsky
• A meet-and-greet with the CMD advisory board
• An internship panel of CMD students that have had an internship
• A Strategic Communication Banquet poster competition
• Formation of a Strategic Communication Banquet planning committee

Lastly, a huge thanks to the two EMC recruiters who presented on their organization and the wonderful opportunities available to people with the skills and knowledge that CMD provides.
