If you read or listen to the news you undoubtedly know that these are challenging economic times across the country and, that fewer companies are recruiting on college campuses this year. In spite of the gloom and doom that is in the media Career Services wants the Ithaca College community to know that there ARE many excellent job, internship and summer opportunities available.
In fact, there are over 80 of them at the spring Job & Internship Fair on April 1, 2009 (Emerson Suites – 4:00 – 7:00 pm).
If you’re an IC student, this fair is your opportunity to meet these companies, to network with them and to share your skills, experience and qualifications. There will be interview opportunities as well.
But only if you show up.

Resumania is here!
Your fellow IC students are dusting off last summer’s resumes and adding their new accomplishments as they apply for summer opportunities. You can help them by providing a copy of your resume and cover letters for the Career Services reference binders. We’re awarding three Ithaca College Bookstore Gift Certificates from a random drawing of all Resumania participants!
Just go to www.ithaca.edu/erecruiting and after you login, click on “Jobs and Internships.” Enter “Resumania” in the KEYWORDS box, and click the link “Resumania-Resumes”. Scroll down to the link “Upload a Resume” to add your resume. It’s a similar pathway to upload your cover letter. You can upload one of each and double your chance of winning. Good luck!
You can also get your resume in front of thousands of recruiters by publishing it to one of our resume books (once in eRecruiting, click on documents & then ‘publish resume’ to find the list of available books). We’ll e-mail the resume books (there is one book for job-seeking seniors and one for any student who is seeking an internship) to all of the employers in our database in late April.
For assistance in using eRecruiting or to get your documents critiqued, contact Career Services.
