Sigma Iota Epsilon, the American Marketing Association, and Career Services cordially invite you to attend the 11th Annual Etiquette Dinner.


Students from all schools across campus are encouraged to attend this event which focuses on teaching appropriate dining behavior in order to make a great first impression during interviews where meals are involved. The event will include keynote and etiquette speakers, a three-course meal, door prizes, and music by Ithacapella!

This year's etiquette speaker, assistant manager and waiter Andrew Satkowski of John Thomas Steakhouse, will discuss his first-hand perspective on professional etiquette and guide students through the basics of dinner etiquette. Mr. Satkowski will be followed by the keynote speaker, Mr. Randy MacDonald, Senior VP of Human Resources for IBB who will discuss the differences in etiquette across cultures.

In addition to these great speakers, networking opportunities will be available for students, as employers from the day's Career Day 2007 Job and Internship Fair will be in attendance.

The event will be held in the Emerson Suites on Tuesday, October 30th with the reception beginning at 5:15 p.m. and dinner commencing at 6:00 p.m. Dress is business professional, so dress to impress!

Due to the limited number of seats available, tickets will go quickly, so be sure to purchase your tickets as soon as possible!

Open Ticket Sales – October 16, 17, 22, 23 (9am-3pm)

HOW MUCH: $12 per ticket $1 from every ticket will be donated to the Ithaca Breast Cancer Alliance in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Schwartz Center at Cornell University is seeking a soloist to perform as a wandering musician in their production of As You Like It by William Shakespeare. Music will be composed for the production by John Winn.

Auditions will be held on Wednesday October 17th beginning at 4:30, and you must register by calling 254-2703.  Please come prepared with a short languid/folksy piece. Producers are looking for a portable melodic instrument: violin, oboe, trumpet, clarinet, flute, recorder, etc. Rehearsals begin March 1, 2008; Performance dates: April 24-26, May 1-3 2008.

Each event features “teachable edibles”, mostly organic and locally-grown season food products, served in a “zero waste” format.

    The Student Conservation Association is offering students an opportunity to protect the environment, challenge their intellect, and win top prizes.


    We seek to engage the intelligence and passion of America's young leaders to help restore and protect our natural world. We are looking for practical solutions that involve young people in addressing an environmental challenge.

    • Submissions may be a research project or thesis as well as video, PowerPoint, or even a website

    • Prizes include a 2008 Mazda3i, $37,000, and eight expense-paid trips to SCA’s April 2008 EarthVision Summit in Washington DC

    • The deadline is December 1, 2007

    The SCA/Mazda Conservation in Action Multimedia Contest is part of a year-long series of events to celebrate SCA’s 50th anniversary and honor founder Elizabeth Titus Putnam, whose senior thesis launched SCA in 1957. She proved that a young person with vision and determination can make a difference. SCA believes that’s still possible.

    Are you thinking about attending graduate school after college? Join us for the Career Services' 9th Annual Graduate and Professional School Fair on Tuesday, October 2nd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be over 115 schools in attendance with representatives from various graduate and professional programs who want to talk with you!

    The fair is a great way to find out about specific programs, as well as to get general information about the graduate and professional school application process. The Graduate and Professional School Fair will be held between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in Emerson Suites.

    For those of you who are applying to graduate school and have specific questions, check out one of the following panels: Law School Panel (7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. in the Clark Lounge) Medical Professions Panel (7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. in Klingenstein Lounge)

    Liberal Arts Panel (7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. in IC Square) **New this year!**

    Panelists will be on hand to answer questions concerning the application process for law school, medical school and liberal arts programs. These events will begin immediately following the Graduate and Professional School Fair.
