The first impression you make on an employer is often the one projected by your resume. The resume never travels alone. Each time you submit your resume to an employer, you should enclose a cover letter which explains why you are submitting the resume. Both are marketing tools to "sell" yourself.
Career Services offers assistance in writing your resume and cover letter.
Drop-In Feedback
Assistance is available on a drop-in basis for help with resumes and cover letters. Because of the volume of requests that we receive for this service, we have a well trained staff of Peer Career Advisors available to assist you.
Distance Feedback
While it is preferable to provide feedback for resumes and cover letters in person, we realize that this is not always possible. Our staff is able to provide assistance by phone or e-mail. Please contact our office to set up an appointment. Please note that distance appointments are for students away from the Ithaca campus and for alumni.
