September 2009 is Career Month at Ithaca College. We invite you to join us for the following on-campus events:
Job, Internship & Volunteer Fair:
Our fall Job, Internship & Volunteer Fair will include students from all class years and academic programs. This year's fall fair will take place on Monday, September 14, prior to the fairs being held at Cornell University and Binghamton University. We hope that this fair circuit will enable us to better serve your recruiting needs. For more details, please e-mail klibritz@ithaca.edu or click here.
Health Careers Fair:
On September 30, our 2nd annual Health Careers Fair will include undergraduate and graduate students from our School of Health Sciences and Human Performance. The Health Careers Fair is intended for organizations who recruit Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists/Audiologists, Exercise Science professionals, Recreation Specialists, Outdoor Education Leaders and Nurses. As in the past, we will be inviting students from partner schools in our region. For more details, please e-mail jfracchia@ithaca.edu or visit http://healthcareers.experience.com.
Speed Networking:
Held in downtown Ithaca, this 3rd annual networking event allows professionals to help students practice their networking skills. Participants include Ithaca College, Cornell University, the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce and TC3. Recruiters who will be in town during this event are welcome to register & join us for an evening of speed networking. The date is TBA, but it will be held early in the fall semester. For more details, please e-mail klibritz@ithaca.edu.
Winter Break Events
Career and Internship Connection (CIC)
Co-Sponsored by Ithaca College and 17 other schools, CIC is held in early January in: Boston, New York, Washington D.C., Chicago and San Francisco. CIC offers a productive day that includes a morning Job & Internship Fair, followed by an afternoon of interviews. Employers may post opportunities in advance of the fair (typically this process starts by late October), so that students may apply for pre-scheduled interviews. You may also elect to hold some or all of your interview slots for those students whom you meet during the fair. Once registration for CIC is live, we will post the link for your information.
Road Trips to the Real World
Companies looking for a creative way to promote their organization to future interns and/or employees may consider hosting a group of students for a visit to their company. Visits usually include a facility tour, panel presentation and/or networking reception. This series of site visits takes place during January, when students are on winter break. Sponsored by the Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers, visits are open to students from most colleges & universities in the Northeast. If you are interested in hosting a site visit, contact Kristin LiBritz, Road Trips to the Real World Committee Member, at klibritz@ithaca.edu.
Spring Semester Events
Spring Job & Internship Fair
Our annual spring fair and day of interviews is a good event to attend if you are looking for fall or summer interns, May graduates, or summer employees. Registration will be open in the late fall on eRecruiting.
Central New York Communications Consortium
April 19 - 21, 2010
The Central New York Communications Consortium is co-sponsored by five of New York's most competitive communications programs (Ithaca College, Syracuse University, Cornell University, LeMoyne College, Colgate University). Held annually at Syracuse University, hundreds of students participate in this three day event as well as many of the top companies in the field of communications. It is our goal to provide both students and employers with a comfortable, efficient and cost effective setting in which to discuss opportunities.
