Some Important Information To Know About Campus Recruiting Visits
-
Applying To Interview - If a recruiter has scheduled a campus recruiting visit, you must apply for
the position through eRecruiting (Career
Fairs are the exception to this). The application due date is generally 2 weeks prior to the
scheduled interview date. Once you have applied, the employer will decide if they are going to extend
an interview to you. If so, you will receive an e-mail prompting you to log onto eRecruiting to select an interview time.
-
Information Sessions - Many employers elect to hold an information session the evening before their
interviews. If they are holding one, you are expected to be there. They consider this to be part of
your interview. If you cannot attend the information session because of a class or an employment
commitment, you should let the employer know in advance. In the past, students who have not attended
the information session have sometimes had their interview canceled by the interviewer!
-
Interview Attire - Attire for interviews is business professional, unless you are instructed by the
interviewer not to dress up. If you do not dress appropriately for your interview, you can end up
making a very bad impression.
-
Where To Go For Your Interview - With the exception of Career Fairs, interviews are held at the
Career Services office which is located on the first floor of Gannett Center closest to the Whalen Center for Music.
