Community Service Committee
SACL Community Service Committee
The SACL Community Service Committee will be responsible for gathering service-based information that offers a broad and accurate representation of the breadth and depth of co-curricular community service activities being performed by Ithaca College students. This SACL Community Service Committee will serve the campus community by creating best practices for collecting and compiling information that can be used for a variety of service-related purposes, including departmental reporting, institutional research, as well as annual and periodic service-based awards and grants. In addition, the committee will share ideas and resources for strengthening the institution’s commitment to co-curricular community service initiatives. The committee can explore resources that may exist for engaging collaboratively on service-based events throughout the year, as well as determine ways to broaden connections between Ithaca College and local community organizations that are seeking involvement from Ithaca College students, through non-credit bearing opportunities.
The committee is open to all Student Affairs and Campus Life staff. The committee will be comprised of no more than ten members, and will welcome between two and four at-large members from other areas of the campus. Inquiries for involvement as an at-large member of this committee should be directed to the committee chair. Involvement in community service initiatives is beneficial for prospective members, but not required.
