PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN
The Production Technician staff is responsible for ensuring that all audio-visual requirements for events have been met as requested. Staff set-up, operate, and strike a variety of professional level sound, lighting, and projection equipment. They are responsible for some equipment maintenance, keeping storage areas clean and organized and tracking inventory. Many shifts occur late at night, early in the morning and on weekends. Production Technicians are expected to work these shifts as needed. They also assist in special projects as assigned.
Production Technician applicants must have prior audio-visual experience, as well as possess leadership and interpersonal skills, a positive customer service attitude and a high level of commitment and flexibility. Staff members have limited opportunity to attend summer classes and hold other jobs on or off campus. Other commitments will be evaluated before employment offer is extended. Technicians will be paid $9.00 per hour for approximately 30 hours per week (hours worked per week will vary). On campus housing and meals are available. Positions start Monday, May 14, 2012 and ends Sunday, August 26, 2012.
SPECIAL EVENT MANAGER
The Special Event Manager is requirements are as follows:
- Prior experience in working at events (CMD/IMC major preferred)
- Desire to work in the field of event production after graduation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible work availability (ability to work during holidays)
- Ability to flourish in a rapidly changing environment
The Special Event Manager is responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
1. Supervising events planned by Campus Center & Event Services staff:
- Assisting the clients and service providers to meet requirements as outlined in the event summaries.
- Resolving all on-site complications by communicating with service providers and full-time CCES staff.
- Ensuring the delivery of the services necessary for an event including catering set-up, beverage service, parking, all of the service providing departments or businesses and the client.
2. Working on Set Up and Audio Visual shifts to gain knowledge about the operations of the Campus Center & Events office.
3. Shadowing SEMC staff to gain knowledge of event services and customer service skills.
Special Event Managers will be expected to supervise events during daily, evening, and weekend hours.
