First-Year Residence Hall Program
While virtually all residence halls house some freshmen, the First-Year Residence Hall Program is specifically designed to address first-year student issues. The program is located in Boothroyd, Rowland and Tallcott Halls in the upper Quads. These buildings exclusively house first-year students and all programs are geared toward first-year students' needs. The 15 resident assistants are highly involved in this dynamic community. Participants are expected to be actively involved in the program, and selection is based upon an essay application.
Stockwerk Deutsch
Stockwerk Deutsch is a German language and culture learning community that welcomes all levels of German language enthusiasts, from beginning learner to native speakers. The goal of the program is to create a community where students can actively use their German language skills and participate in regular programs devoted to learning the language as well as enhancing participants' awareness about the culture and history of German-speaking countries.
HOME (Housing Offering Multicultural Experience)
Located in Terrace 3, HOME is designated for international and domestic students committed to expanding their multicultural experiences. The HOME Program is an excellent living option for students interested in learning about multicultural issues, students preparing to study abroad or students living in the United States for the first time. In addition to sharing a common residential experience, the students living in the program are required to enroll and participate in one of five designated multicultural-themed classes during their first semester in HOME. During subsequent semesters, they must participate in six multicultural events and a community forum. First-year students who are accepted to live in HOME will be registered for these courses PRIOR to Orientation.
The Sustainably Conscious Learning Community
This community is designed for those students who are committed to improving their relationship with the environment, society, and economy. Participants will be expected to participate in community meetings, group dinners, and education opportunities throughout the year.
Quartier Francais
Quartier Francais is a French language and culture learning community that welcomes all levels of French language enthusiasts, from beginning learner to native speakers. Outdoor Adventure Learning Community
Whether you are new to outdoor adventures, or an expert, this learning community will stimulate all. The opportunities on this floor will help participants to gain survival skills, leadership skills, and learn more about the environmental issues involved in outdoor adventure including the Leave no Trace theory. This learning community will be housed in Terrace 8.
